123 Hospital Patients

Extensive outbreaks of infectious diseases in the Don Valley were reported at to-day’s meeting at Conisborough of the Doncaster and Mexborough Joint Hospital Board.

The Medical Superintendent (Dr. W. J. Maclure) stated that there were now in hospital 123 patients, of whom 91 were suffering from diphtheria and 32 from scarlet fever.

During the month 117 patients had been admitted, 26 with scarlet fever and 91 with diphtheria, and 88 patients had been discharged—34 fever patients and 54 diphtheria patients.
