Extraordinary Scene in Court.
Tussle Between Solicitors.

There was a most extraordinary scene, in Court during the hearing of the Robinson – Alpine case. Mr. Allen, who, as we state above, represented the girl on the first occasion, came into court, during the morning, and took a seat at the solicitors’ table, next to Mr. Gichard. Whilst, Mr Wilson was examining a witness, Mr Allen was observed to pass Mr. Gichard and sit down in, beween the latter and Mr. Wilson.

Mr. Wilson chanced for a moment to lay his brief down on the table. Mr. Allen calmly picked up the papers and began handling them in a mysterious manner. Mr. Wilson asked him what he was doing. Mr. Allen replied that the papers were his, and that he demanded them. Mr. Wilson said he had never heard of such a thing. He was bailee of the papers, and should not give them up. Mr. Allen said they were his papers.

Mr. Wilson seized Mr. Alien’s wrist, and after a short tussle succeeded in wrenching the papers from his grasp. Mr. Wilson said that at the present time the papers were in .his lawful custody, and he should stick to them. He remarked that Mr. Allen’s fees had not yet been paid, and he gave directions that they should be paid immediately.

The evidence was then continued and we understand the fee was paid later on.
