Fallon Goes to Derby

Denaby United’s Christmas day crowd did not realise that this was John Fallon’s last game for United at centre half.

John, an electrician at Malty Main Colliery signed for Derby County immediately after the game for what was described as a satisfactory fee and an official of the club said a further sum would be paid when he appears in the first team.

Fallon who is 19 joined Denaby this season from Wath Wanderers and a great future is predicted for him. After a few outings with the reserves he was promoted to the first team and since then he has not lost his place. he was signed by Mr Jack Barker former Denaby Derby County and English international.

Fallon is of a footballing family and had an uncle who played for Tottenham Hotspurs about 25 years ago. His farther worked at Cadeby colliery for a time before going to live in Maltby.

Derby County are to send a strong team to Denaby for a friendly match towards the end of a season.
