Fatal Accident to a Corn Factor at Denaby

Yesterday morning John Hudson, core factor and miller, Denaby, was fatally injured at the Denaby gate crossing on the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway.

Deceased, who was 37 years of age, was proceeding on the highway at Denaby, and had to wait at the gate for the passing of a goods train.

As soon as the train passed he attempted to cross the line, when he was immediately knocked down by a passenger train. He was picked up insensible, and with wound on the left temple, and taken to the of Arthur Rawson, gatekeeper, where he died at 8 30, which was about an hour after the accident happened

An inquest will be held.
