Denaby´s Fine Performance at Peterborough

Denaby came out of their battle with Peterborough with splendid report. It was their first match for several weeks – in common with other “weatherbound” clubs – and they drew 3-3; this with the runners-up in the Midland League table – at Peterborough. A feature was the good work of the former Mexborough district boy, Singleton, in goal for Denaby. Matches were resumed in several football centres on Saturday

The fine display of Singleton, Denaby´s young goalkeeper was a feature of this match at Peterborough on Saturday, where Denaby drew 3-3. It was a fluctuating game, but Denaby played with greater science and thoroughly deserved their point

Midway in the first half Denaby were two goals down, but they made a strong rally and eighteen minutes after the interval were leading 3-2. With five minutes to go Peterborough saved the game.

Morallee and Gibbs stood out prominently in Denaby´s attack. The scorers were HAYCOX (2) and HEWITT for Peterborough and DAVIS, MORALLEE and WRIGHT (penalty) for Denaby.
