Fewer mishaps involving dogs at Conisbrough
The adoption of the bye-law prohibiting dogs off the lead wandering on the main roads through Conisbrough and Denaby seems to have resulted in a reduction in road accidents involving dogs.
Since October there have been 11 accidents involving dogs on Conisbrough roads and eight on Denaby roads, it was stated at Tuesday’s meeting of Conisbrough Road and Home Safety Committee.
A Denaby West Riding Police representative told the committee of the reduction, and said that to his knowledge three dog owners had been cautioned over allowing animals on to main roads.
Said Coun. A.E. Tyas, “I am pleased there is a decrease in these accidents; we can’t of course expect a 100% reduction all at once.”
