Fighting at Mexborough
Summonses for having accepted the highway by fighting at Mexborough on Saturday, 27 October, were preferred against Charles Fallon and Thomas Staley, miners, of new Conisbro.
The defendants did not appear.
Police constable Farr said he saw the defendants fighting in Bank Street at 11 PM. They had a crowd of about 200 people around them, and the road was blocked for about 10 minutes.
Police constable Hughes corroborated, and Fallon, against whom there were previous conviction, fined 10 shillings and the costs, and Staley five shillings and the costs.
