Final Touches

Members of Tom Hill Youth Club, Denaby, are putting the final touches to their pantomime “Dick Whittington”, which opens for six nights commencing Monday. I am told it is a well balanced show, with plenty of comedy, good singing and dancing. In fact a show to suit all tastes. Leading the cast once more is Jean Godber (Dick), who will be remembered as Aladdin in last year’s pantomime, and Dandini in the club’s 1960 production of “Cinderella”. Jean’s charming personality and strong singing voice make her the ideal choice for principal boy this year. Ann Roberts, who previously has appeared as a member of the chorus, steps out into her first leading role as Alice Fitzwarren.

Comedy Team

The comedy is supplied by David Blacklock (Mrs. Whittington), Wilfred Revill (Ald. Fitzwarren), David Harrison (Idle Jack) and Alan Duffy (Lazy Larry). This foursome is guaranteed to keep you laughing from beginning to end. Second Boy and Girl are Ruth Willis and Jean Bates, with Eleanor Dixon as the “Fairy” and Patrick O’Grady as the “Demon Rat”.
