Fire at Conisbrough

On Friday morning, a fire broke out in the bedroom of Mr G Harrison, newsagent, Conisbrough, the call of their big been a lighted candle, which fell on the bed clothes.

In a few minutes, the mattresses, bed hangings, curtains, etc were in a blaze. The occupants proceeded to throw water on the flames, which Mr Harrison, until recently was captain of the Fire Brigade, succeeded in subduing. The damage is estimated at about £12.
