First Classic in Colour

For South Yorkshire viewers the BBC’s newest Sunday afternoon serialisation of a British classic will have particular interest for it is Sir Walter Scott’s “Ivanhoe.”

One of the principal settings of this adventure story is Conisbrough Castle.

The first of 10 episodes went on the screen on Sunday, and here we give pictures of the, three principal characters — Ivanhoe, played by Eric Flynn; The Templar, played by Anthony Bate, and the Lady Rowena, played by Clare Jenkins,
