Flight Lieutenant Frank Ogley, R.A.F., a partner in the firm of Messrs Oxley and Coward, solicitors, Rotherham, has been mentioned in dispatches for the second time. The latest “mention” is for outstanding devotion to duty.

Flight lieutenant Ogley, whose wife and four children reside at ‘Greengates,’ Thrybergh, received his last “mention” six months ago, and both were received while he was stationed at Bawtry for 18 months.

He joined the Royal Air Force nearly four years ago and was engaged on administrative duties, being released last November. Before joining the R.A.F., Flight Lieutenant Ogley took a prominent part in the formation of the L.D.V. and Home Guard, and for a considerable time was in command of “D” Company of the 61st West Riding Battalion. He is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs F.Ogley, of Hill Top Farm, Conisbrough.

Flight Lieutenant Ogley is one of four sons who have seen service in the Forces. Capt Reginald Ogley is a medical officer with the R.A.M.C.at Darrington. Private Douglas Ogley is now stationed at Doncaster with the R.A.S.C.after service in West Africa where he had the misfortune to contract severe malaria and Sgt Stuart Ogley is in Germany with the Royal Corps of Signals.

Their father was for a number of years Conisbrough representative on the West Riding County Council, and he has also been associated with the Doncaster and Rotherham Rural District Councils.
