Flood Lighting Castle

During the flood-lighting of the Castle the ‘bus companies brought loads of visitors to view the illuminations, and thousands more passing through were delighted with the view.

The companies derived some benefit and the Council have received ten guineas from the Mexboro’ and Swinton Traction Company, and five guineas from the Yorkshire Traction Company, as a contribution to the expenses of illumination.
