‘Flu Epidemic

The epidemic in Conisboro’ appears to be on the increase and the doctors are working day and night.

Handbills have been distributed throughout the area, and acting on the advice of the Medical Officer all departments of the six elementary schools in the urban area were closed on Tuesday morning, until February 1st.

Greatly reduced attendances have been reported, and some classes have only been able to register 30 per cent.

Throughout the area works and businesses are carrying on with reduced staffs.

Epidemic

On the advice of the Medical Officer, the Denaby schools were closed on Tuesday for two weeks owing to the prevalence of influenza. There seem to be few home in the area unaffected by the epidemic.

The circular issued by the Urban Council was received this week. It contains much useful information which it is hoped, will be made use of as far as possible.

At the weekly meeting of the Parish Church Sunday School teachers it was decided to close the Sunday Schools till the day schools re-open.
