For Huntingdon.

Mrs. D. Donson, Senior Assistant at Balby St Junior School, Denaby is leaving the district at the end of December for Old Weston, near Huntingdon, where she will take up the post of headmistress of the village school.

Mrs. Donson will be the only teacher at the school, and in her class will be her five – years – old daughter, Norma, who is at present in the infants’ department at Balby Street. Mrs. Donson came to Denaby from Hull Municipal Training Col-ege in 1939 and began by teaching the first year junior class.

During her term of office at Denaby, she has been responsible for most of the concerts and social functions at the school. She is a former pupil of Mexborough Grammar School. Her husband. Mr. C. Doson, who is a former teacher at Thurnscoe Hill Modern School, and who was on the  editorial staff of the “Yorkshire Evening News” and “Doncaster Gazette.” is completing a training course for teachers at Bristol, quite near to Huntingdon and the family will live in Old Weston.

Mrs. Donson’s sister-in-law, Miss Margaret Donson, who is studying for a subsidiary Higher School Certificate at Mexborough Grammar School, will go with them, and will attend the Huntingdon Grammar School.
