Four Generations
A former chairman of the old Parish Council, Mr. Charles Holmes, now of Rippingdale, Lincolnshire, who is father-in-law of Councillor George Oldfield, with a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Sampson, North Cliff Road; his grand-daughter, Mrs. E. Sharpe, of Bradford, and his great-grandson, Jack Sharpe. Mr. Charles Holmes was formerly steward at Conisborough Castle Working Men’s Club, and a member of Doncaster Board of Guardians and Doncaster Rural District Council.
