Alleged Offence Against Conisborough Miner

At Doncaster this morning Alfred Booker, Conisbro’ miner, was remanded on a charge of 10 fowls, the property of Frederick Mee, a fellow miner.

Sergt. Lewenden stated that he was making inquiries respecting fowl robberies, and saw the prisoner and four other men run away at New Conisbro.’

Witness caught him but, he slipped his jacket. In the pocket of the coat were two fowls, and when charged he said, “I only got two. The other men got the others.”

Inspector Townend said the prisoner refused to give assistance in tracing other men.

Booker was remanded until Saturday.
