Friendly Society Hospital Sunday at Conisborough

On Sunday last the Friendly Societies of Conisborough held eight Hospital Sunday demonstration, the Doncaster Infirmary been the object to be benefited. There was a large gathering of the two lodges of Odd Fellows, the Foresters and the Druids, and a procession was organised and headed by the Conisborough Brass Band, which marched round the town.

The band was the conductorship of Mr A Wilson and lively marching airs were played, including “The flying Dutchman,” “The Royal money,” and “ Sandon.”

The destination was the church, and there were large numbers of people from Conisborough and the surrounding villages lining the route. When the procession and into the church it was speedily crowded. “God Save the Queen” was first sung, then a shortened form of service was gone through.
