Scholars at Denaby Once More

About 2,000 children from Mexborough and Don Valley Division schools now receive weekly instruction in swimming in Denaby Swimming Baths.

When the Baths opened on Monday week for the summer session, Mr. C. Rich, the baths manager, told the ‘South Yorkshire Times’ that 10 classes per day were attending Baths, Mexborough Division Schools have three days, and Don Valley Schools have one and a half days, each class having an average of 40 pupils.

Although the classes have started, an instructor has not yet been engaged and teachers are having to give instructions from the bath side.

Denaby Evening Institute have use of the Baths from 8 until 9 on Tuesday evenings.
