Gambling at Denaby
Wm.- Swain, collier, Denaby, was charged with damaging fences at Denaby, the property of Mr. James Braithwaite, farmer, Denaby, on the 29th ult.
Police-constable Midgely said defendant and number of others were in a field known as the “Twenty Acre on the Sunday afternoon named ; some were playing cards, and others were playing pitch and toss.
When they saw witness they ran away, and in their flight they broke several fences.
Defendant, who pleaded guilty, was fined 13s 6d., including damages, and costs.
