The Gambling Mania.
On Saturday, at the Doncaster West Riding Court, George Draper and John Griffiths, colliers, Swinton, were charged with gaming with coins at Barlborough, the 3rd inst. They were each fined 2s. 6d. and 10s. costs.
Ernest Hutton, Stephen Hough, Joseph Jones, Alfred Cliff, and John Hutchinson, all Conisborough, were charged with playing “banker.” and each ordered to pay 10s., including costs.
William Whitehead, John Dolan, William Dolan, Isaiah Sagar, Joseph Furley. Thos. Hughes, Israel Linstead, and Henry Trout, were also charged with playing at pitch and toss.
Defendants were each ordered pay 10 shillings.
