Game Trespass at Conisbro’

Geo. Newbound and Jno. Newbound, colliers, of Conisbro’, were both charged with a game trespass at that place, on the 7th inst.

Geo. Hague deposed that he was a farmer, and lived at Clifton. On Tuesday last, the 7th, about 9 o’clock, he was in his field, and saw the two defendants in a grass field watching some rabbit holes. They had got half a dozen into net.

Witness went to them and asked what they were doing, and they said they were going to get a rabbit. They had a ferret as well as the nets. Witness took the nets from them.

Fined 10s. and costs 10s. each, or 14 days’ imprisonment in default.
