Osric & Joseph Gascoyne

Private Osric Gascoyne (East Lancs Regiment) 10 Loversall Street, Denaby main, is in hospital in Mesopotamia with sand fly fever. He is 57 years of age, and has nine children. Before enlistment he worked at the Cadeby colliery.

One of his sons, Lance Cpl Joseph Gascoyne (York and Lancs), has been wounded, has been awarded the military medal for gallantry in rescuing wounded from no man’s land. He is 21 and has been serving since December 1914
