Denaby United were making their last Midland league appearance of the season before their home supporters in the fixture with Ransome and Marles last weekend.

The “Other match” home appearance is for the benefit for George Madin (who was there on Saturday in the stand with his injured leg in plaster).

The game has been fixed for a April 26 with a 6.30 kick-off and on this occasion Walter Ardron (picture) is bringing over a very attractive side to do battle with United – including Hardwick (Doncaster Rovers) Askwith, Stirling (Doncaster) Bycroft (Doncaster), Shaw (Rotherham), Bennett (Doncaster), Todd (Doncaster), Paddy Windle (Lincoln) and of course Ardron himself.

It should be a grand draw – and wholehearted team man Madin is one of United worthies (causes,” I hope the match will get the “big gate” he deserves.

Tickets can be had, by the way from either secretary manager Arthur Roberts (17, Warmsworth Street) or any member of the club.
