Gift for Conisborough Club Secretary.

About 70 cyclists and their friends attended a tea and social in the Victoria Hall, Conisborough on Sunday when members of Conisborough Ivanhoe Cycling Club paid tribute to Mr G.N.Lees, who for the past six years has been hon secretary and was formerly treasurer.

Presented Mr Lees with an inscribed barometer, Mr C.J.Pickett (Pres) said all would appreciate his services to the club this. He had been a force behind the club.

Mr Lees thanked his colleagues and appealed to club members not to let their club down during the war. Should one club find it difficult to carry on, other clubs should help them. He had worked hard for the Ivanhoe club and was pleased that it was on a sound financial footing. Although he was leaving the club behind, he would still remain attached to it.
