Gift for Former Denaby Priest

Many members of St. Alban’s Church, Denaby Main, met in the school hall on Tuesday to greet Father Hutton, who recently left for Moorthorpe after serving four years at Denaby.
Parish Priest Father O’Kane presided, supported by Father O’Keeffe, assistant priest, and a presentation was made to Father Hutton in appreciation of his services.
Father O’Kane welcomed Father Hutton and paid warm tribute to his work at Denaby. He presented a cheque from Church members.
Mrs. Harrison, president of the Union of Catholic Mothers, presented a pen from members.

Father Hutton, expressing appreciation of the welcome and of the gifts, said he came to Denaby straight from college and was new to Parish work.

FIRST YEARS
He would always be grateful to Father O’Kane for his guidance, and would always remember his first four years and the members of St. Alban’s for their understanding, help and kindness.
Father Hutton also paid tribute to Miss Higgins, housekeeper at the Presbytery, for her help.

After the ceremony the Union of Catholic Mothers served refreshments and concert items were provided by Miss Fitzwilliam, Mr. J. Hurley, Father Hutton, and an amusing quartet by Messrs Hurley, Littlewood, Harrison and Gregory.

Competition winners were Mrs. Morley, Mrs. Collins, Miss Higgins, Mr. Muller, Mrs. O’Neill and Mrs. Osborne.
