Good Friday at Conisbro’ Castle
The weather being fine, an unusually large number of persons were attracted to Conisbro’ yesterday. It is estimated that during the afternoon not less than 30,000 people were present.
The trains, long and numerous, were crowded, and conveyances of every description brought in loads of visitors. The usual accompaniments were present in the shape of shows, round-abouts, shooting galleries, &c.
The Primitive Methodists had a large tea meeting in the castle yard, about 400 persons being in attendance. We understand the proceeds are about £10, which will be applied to the building fund of two ministers’ houses.
