Great Things in Denaby.
‘Great things’ have been accomplished in Denaby Main during the four years the present Vicar, the Rev. T. N. Evans, has been there says the Rev. G. F. Braithwaite, Vicar of the neighbouring parish of Conisbrough, paying tribute in this month’s parish magazine to Mr. Evans, who is leaving Denaby in the autumn.
Mr. Braithwaite says the ‘long friendship’ and interdependence of Conisbrough and Denaby have improved. The parishes combine for some activities, for example the British and Foreign Bible Society, Conisbrough and Denaby Auxiliary, and the joint Committee for the C. of E. Children’s Society.
Mr. Evans, formerly curate at Mexborough, and Handsworth, leaves in the autumn (as noted earlier) for the Manchester parish of Wythenshawe.
