Handball Nuisance at Conisborough.

Playing “handball” seems to be in full swing at Denaby and Conisborough and of late charges of throwing the ball to the danger of the public have almost become a fixture on the charge sheet, especially from the two above-mentioned places.

Michael Tracy, Joshua Byrne and Thomas Moran, fillers of new Conisborough, were charged with an offence similar to the above, which occurred on the July 21.

None of the defendants appeared, and PC Cousins, in his evidence, stated that the defendants were playing handball in back Clifton Street, New Conisborough, on the Sunday afternoon. He was in plainclothes, and saw defendants rushing about the street after the ball, which caused a nuisance to several people. He had had several complaints.

Tracy and Byrne were each fined 5s and costs and Moran 2/6 and costs.
