He Has Won a Mini Car In Cyprus

Mrs Ivy Gillott, of 3, Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main has had the pleasant news that her son, Sgt Major Ted Gillott, now serving in Cyprus had won a mini car in a competition arranged by the Army Catering Corps.

Instead of the car, Sgt Major Gillott accepted a cheque for £300 and in the newspaper cutting Mrs Gillott received is a picture of her son receiving the cheque for that amount from capt. K. Smith.

Sgt major Gillott is in Cyprus with the 33 Field Squadron of the Royal engineers. He has been in army for 20 years and can retire, if he so desires, in two years time. He and his wife have three sons and a daughter, and Mrs Gillott and the family are with him in Cyprus. They have accompanied him to various parts of the world in which he has served, Mrs Gillott hails from Midhurst Essex.

They are all well and like Mrs. Gillott, sen, of Denaby Main, are very pleased about the luck of Sgt major Ted Gillott, who has many friends in Denaby Main, who will similarly, be happy to learn of his success.
