the report of the Medical Officer of health for the last quarters of 1935 shows that there were 52 male (including two illegitimate) and 33 female (including two illegitimate) births, equal to an annual rate of 19.2 per 1000, against the approximate rate for the 121 county boroughs and great towns of 14.8 per 1000.
The death registered were 20 male and 15 female, equal to a rate of 7.9 per thousand, against the 121 town’s rate of 11.5.
There were five deaths under one year, giving a rate of 58.8 per 1000 as of 121 town’s rate of 56.7.
The deaths of persons over one year were due to: 1 diphtheria, 1 cerebral haemorrhage, 7 heart disease, 8 pneumonia, 3 pulmonary tuberculosis, 2 ulcer of stomach, 2 senile decay, 2 bronchitis, 2 accidental death and 7 other debts.
Cases of infectious diseases notified were diphtheria 5, Scarlet Fever 3, erysipelas 1, pneumonia 4 and pulmonary tuberculosis 4.
