Heavily Penalty for Cruelty to a Pony at Denaby.

Yesterday at the West are Riding Police Court, Rotherham, John Freeman, a pony driver in the Denaby May Colliery, was charged with cruelty to a pony at his work on the 9th ult.

Mr F Parker Rhodes prosecuted, and the cases to the my William Unwin, a deputy, who saw the lad beating the pony with this sharp point of an iron “locker”

The defendant,when spoken to, said the pony would not pull

the defendant was committed to prison for 21 days with hard Labour
