Military Medal for Colliery Clerk
Sgt Charles Chambers Hill (R.F.A.) son of Mr and Mrs Jessie Hill, the Laurels, Elm Green Lane Conisbrough, has been awarded the Military Medal for gallantry in action in France.
He is 22 years of age, and has been serving since September 1914.
Before enlistment he was on theclerical staff of the Denaby and Cadeby collieries, and was also a member of the recreation club, Conisbrough.
His father is Parish clerk and assistant overseer for Conisbrough.
