His Enlistment Date

Charge of Desertion At Doncaster.

To-day, at Doncaster, Thomas Roberta, private in the York and Lancaster Regiment, stationed at Pontefract, was charged with being deserter, and was remanded to await escort.

He comes from Denaby, and joined the regiment on 1st ApriL Early this morning Police-constable Rutter found him in a shed at Conisborough brick yards asleep, wearing a plain clothes suit, having on a military shirt.

The uniform was found in a house at Conisborough.
