Holidays At Home

Elaborate arrangements are being made for the Holidays at Home Week in the Conisbrough Urban District, and a full and attractive programme is being built up.

The week starts on August 8th, and no efforts are being spared to ensure that local residents who spend their holiday at home shall be provided with plenty of amusement and entertainment.

One of the preliminary events is the election of a Beauty Queen, who will play a prominent part in the events of the week. Several entries have already been received, but it is expected that many more will come forward to compete for the honour of being publicly acclaimed Conisbrough’s loveliest girl.

One of the attractions scheduled is an ambitious agricultural show, in which the interest of local farmers and stock-breeders is invited.

On Aug. 14th there is to be a boxing programme on Denaby United football ground. There will be bouts between local boys from the ages of 14 to 18. Boys who would like to take part should get in touch with Mr. T. C. Swinbourne, 45 Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main, or Mr. A. Jolley, 93 Tickhill Street, Denaby Main.

A good nucleus of talented boxers has already been booked.
