Holidays At Home
Apart from the honour of being acclaimed as the district’s loveliest girl, the winner of the Beauty Queen competition which is being run in connection with the Conisbrough Urban District Holidays at Home Week, will receive a silk dress given by Mr. Liversidge, of Denaby Main.
The competition is one of the preliminary events associated with the Week, which starts on August 8th, and the chosen Queen will officiate at the principal events during the Week.
A big agricultural show, in which the interest of farmers and stock-breeders in the district is solicited, is also to be arranged, and altogether there will be many attractions calculated to suit the most varied of tastes.
Youths between 14 and 18 years of age are invited to take part in a boxing programme which is being arranged on Denaby F.C.’s ground on Aug. 14th, and should give their names to Mr. A. Jolley, 93 Tickhill Street, Denaby Main, or Mr. T. C. Swinbourne, 45 Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main.
A number of talented boxers have already been booked.
