“Home-Made” Panto
A Bouquet for Conisbro’
A bouquet to Conisbrough Baptist Players, whose first pantomime “Baa-Baa Black Sheep” opened last night in the Baptist Sunday Schoolroom, Conisbrough.
The panto was smoothly produced and the continuity remained unbroken. The cast, most of whom had never appeared on a stage before, played with the assurance of professionals.
The show was written and produced by 21-years-old Mr. A. P. Taylor, who also took the part of “Useless Pickless,” son of the Royal Cook.
Hilda Bonnett, as the witch, is authentic, and plays her part excellently.
Walter Wilkinson, as Baron Von Tum, has an uncommonly good voice.
The chorus, drilled by Miss Ruby Taylor, who has had experience with Kilnhurst Amateur Theatrical Society, served up some catchy little numbers in between scenes.
Last night the Players held their dress rehearsal for children and over 60’s.
