Homework at School Is Popular
Children at Conisbrough Northcliffe high school are going back to school at night… To work and these “homework at school” classes are providing so that a second room is being used to take the overflow.
Mr A. G. Jung, the head Master, told the “South Yorkshire Times” this week that involuntary sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7 PM, 9 PM, the advantages lay in that students were able to do home working conditions which could be more conductive to studys than appertained in many of their homes where they might have the distraction of younger brothers or sisters, TV sets or household chores. At present nearly 50 students are attending the classes which are available to children from the fourth and fifth form GCE and CSE streams.
Mr Young said: “it is a facility I should like to extend to the third forms, but at the moment the numbers which might well come forward would make it difficult to cope with.”
