Denaby Society’s Last Young Bird Race.
The last young birds race of the season, promoted by the Denaby British Legion Homing Society, was flown from Gosport, a distance of 186 miles.
Twenty members sent 122 birds, which were liberated in a West wind.
Messrs Long and Goacher, who have had an excellent season, secured first and second places, both birds arriving at their loft at the same time. They also win the Corn Special.
Mr. G. Redfern and Son win the Young Bird averages, with the popular fanciers Purdy Bros., of Conisborough, as runners-up.
Mr. Sian Taylor wins the combined average prize.
