Honours Board Feats In Two Conisbrough Fixtures.

Although Conisbrough’s Doncaster League first division side were the big hitters on Saturday (265 for 6 against Maltby Main – 89 all out) it was their second team who provided the excitement, scoring 40 at Rowns Lane and dismissing L.N.E.R. For 39!

  1. Straw’s 90 was the feature of the first XI score, other big hitters including Hepworth 37, Cheetham 30, Chadwick 39. Blackburn took 3 for 20 and King 4 for 18 in the dismissal of Maltby.

Rowe was Conisbrough’ only double figure man with 14 in their total of 40 (Ashford 7 for 18. Beale 3 for 21) and L.N.E.R. Opener, Mower (13) was, similarly, their only double figure scorer. Interesting feature of this game was that L.N.E.R. Stood 33 for 6 (eight wanted to win and four wickets in hand), 39 for 7, 39 for 8, 39 for 9 and 39 all out. Ogley took 6 for 1, Brandreth 3 for 14 and Scott 1 for 10.
