Hookah Pipe Publicity – More than Enough

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fox, licensees at the Castle Inn, Burcroft, Conisbrough, are disturbed at the amount of misleading publicity given by the national Press to the story of the Indian ‘hoohah’ pipe preserved at their hotel.

Although the couple had no complaints about the story published in the ‘South Yorkshire Times’, two weeks ago. Mrs. Fox told our reporter this week that the attention the hookah received from national sources turned the whole matter sour.

The moral seems to be that a story in a responsible local paper in one thing but the national follow-up can be overwhelming and anything but satisfactory to the people concerned.
