Horse Bolted

There might have been a very severe accident on Saturday in our streets.

A horse belonging to Mr Hudson of Tinsley bolted from the Hill Top Inn and injured a man who tried to stop it. It made its way down the old Road, and when opposite the Board Schools dropped part of the load of hay which it was dragging.

This gave it fresh cause for alarm, and the horse dashed through the streets, people flying in all directions out of its way.

It made its cause down the Castle side, and was eventually stopped near the Three Horse Shoes.

I understand the injured man is still laid up at Hill Top
