Horse Cruelty at Conisbrough

William Turner, Carter, of Conisboro was summoned for cruelty to a horse.

PC Lundy said that on the 30 inst., he saw the defendant driving the horse, to which was attached a heavy coal cart. The horse was very lame on the foreleg.

On examining the horse, witness found it to be suffering from old standing side bones. The feet were very tender to the touch, and the animal seem to be in great pain.

Defendant said he knew it was lame, and would not work it any more.

A fine of 7/6 and costs was imposed.
