Four Soldier Sons
Fine Record from Conisbrough

Mr and Mrs Horseman, 41 Ivanhoe Road, Conisbrough, have the honour of lending four sons fighting in defence of their country. Haydn, Cecil, and Stanley, before war was declared, joined the K.O.Y.L.I. as territorials, and are, at present in France, serving in the trenches.

Hayden, writing on May 6 to his parents, states that the trenches in which he and his brothers were serving had been furiously bombarded by the German, and their section had to retire, amid a hail of bullets, to safer quarters.

Cecil is a signaller in the K.O.Y.L.I.. These three heroes left York for France,on the 13th April.

Arthur is a member of the R.F.A.and the defendant stationed in Arabia, in the valley between the Euphrates and Tigris, the supposed site of the Garden of Eden, from which he sent some choice flowers to his sister as a relic. He previously served five years in India, where he took part in several engagements. He was wounded in the arm, and was in an Indian hospital over six months. He is also a signaller on the General Staff.

Mr and Mrs Horseman have two nephews at the front, and four relatives also at the front with the Canadian volunteers. One of the latter is a German prisoner. All readers will agree that this is a fine response Conisbrough
