Hull Retain Race
Conisbrough Youth Club’s former inside-right, Geoffrey Race, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Race, ‘Beulah,’ Ellershaw Road, Conisbrough, has been retained by Hull City.
Serving with the R.A.F., he is due for demobilisation on July l. Formerly with Denaby St. Alban’s, Race has played a good deal of football in the R.A.F.
He helped a Watton eleven, which included several league players, to win the East Anglian League, the Great Yarmouth Town Cup, and the Norfolk County F.A. Cup (365 teams took part in this competition), and he is due to appear in another cup final on the Norwich City ground next Tuesday.

Youth Club, Race was on Sheffield United’s books as an amateur when he was 16 ½
