Inquest At Conisborough

Yesterday, at the Star Inn, Conisbro’, Mr. Nicholson, coroner, held an inquest on the body of female infant child, which had been found on the highway wrapped up in a paper last Friday.

The body was, well developed. There was no external mark of violence. One lung was fully distended, showing that the child had breathed after birth.

The infant had evidently not been medically attended. There was no knowledge as to whose child it was. It being supposed to be the child of a tramp.

The Coroner said there was no evidence of murder or manslaughter.

A verdict of “Found dead” was returned.
