Inquest Verdict

At a Conisbrough inquest on Wednesday, the Doncaster District coroner, Mr K.D.Potter recorded a verdict of “Death from industrial disease” on former Cadeby Main Miner, Mr William Dale (74) of three Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, who died on Saturday.

Mr Kenneth Dale, miner of the same address, said his father’s condition deteriorated during the past 10 years.

He had spent some weeks in Fullerton hospital at Christmas and had been admitted again at the end of September.

He had received a pension for pneumoconiosis for some years. Dr Kenneth Beveridge, said he died on Saturday, and the cause of death was heart failure due to bronchitis and pneumoconiosis.
