The Ivanhoe club, for the third Time in five years, have won the aggregate cup (division “B”), and for the third year in succession the individual darts cup. Although the league cup may not be won outright, the darts cup is now the property of the club.

A striking fact about the darts, team is that for the last three years In the competition they have never lost a match.

Mr. Herbert Barker, President of the club, who was presented with the aggregate cup by Mr. Butler, said. We cannot win it outright, the only thing we can do is to win it every year—and we will.”

His words were echoed by the captain of the darts team. Mr. Wilfred Ellis, who was presented with his cup by the branch treasurer. Mr. Arthur Eccles. “This is the third time I have been up here,” he said, “but I really don’t know what to say, except that they are a set of good lads. When we kicked off we said we were going to make this cup our own. Now we have done it. We have a case up there to hold three cups. As we can’t win the aggregate cup outright, it looks as though we shall have to win. another two darts cups to fill it.”

Mr. Ellis, and the other members of his team. Mr. Thomas Gibbons, Mr. Frank Gibbons, Mr. Walter Thorpe and Mr. R. Edwards, were each presented with a canteen of cutlery by Mr. Eccles.

The prize-giving was terminated with the award of a long service certificate of merit to Mr. Horace Botwood. Mr. Botwood has been a member of the club for 45 years, associate member for the same number of years, and for 25 years a committee man.
