Ivanhoe Cycling Club
Conisborough Ivanhoes C. C’s annual ride to the Blackpool illuminations was marred by the sudden illness of Mr Bert Streets, who had organised the trip for 11 members of the club.
Mr Streets was feeling ill on Sunday morning and decided to return home on the motorcycle of Mr Reg Thompson, a friend of the club.
At Burnley he became too ill to travel any further was taken to a doctor, later he was detained in hospital. The club the rest of the party, unaware of Mr Street’s illness, returned via Whalley and Skipton to join up with the club run at Otley.
The club run was led by vice-captain F Minto and 17 team members attended and tea was taken at Wentbridge.
Next Sundays run to Monsal Dale (tea Pond street) will start from the Red Lion Hotel at 9 AM.
