IVANHOE

Thirty members of the Ivanhoe Motor Cycle Club entered the fourth Ivanhoe “Closed to Club” trial, held at Lodge Farm, Kilnhurst, on Sunday. The winner was Martin Savage (250 Butler), 40 marks lost; second, Richard Plume (250 Greeves), 42; and third Bryn Thomas (250 Greeves), 49.

There was keen competition among the novices, the best novice award finally being won by Ian Ollerenshaw (250 Greeves) 70 marks lost, with Richard Rollett (250 Special) 73 second, and “Sixer” Sykes (250 James) third.

The club championship is still wide open at present, with Richard Plume, Bryn Thomas and Harry Dryden tying with 72 points each, followed by Ian Ollerenshaw (67 points), who is far in front of the other novices and beating quite a few experts.

The South Yorkshire Group Trial this Sunday is organised by Barlborough M.C.C. and starts at the Drill Hall, Ecklington, at 11 a.m. Clerk of the Course is Ivanhoe member Terry Kent, so a first class trial can be expected.
