First Victory for Conisborough

Conisborough on Saturday achieved their first victory over Swinton at Swinton. It was not thought for a moment by the Swinton supporters that their team would be second best; but it is very difficult now to predict which team will win. Denaby, the leaders of the league were completely outclassed on Saturday. Conisborough played to win, and did so in an handsome manner.
This is the second time that these teams have met – the first time the game ended greatly in favour of Swinton, it being only a question of time. Swinton, batting first, compiled 101 and when time was called Conisborough had scored 72 for the loss of nine wickets.
On Saturday. Conisborough batted first, the wicket being in good order, and the weather was all that could be desired, although, rather too hot. A good number of spectators assembled to witness the match.
